William Afton, also known as Springtrap, is a central antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) franchise. He is the serial killer responsible for the murder of numerous children, setting the stage for the haunted animatronics that plague the series.

Afton's first physical appearance as Springtrap is in Five Nights at Freddy's 3. In this form, he is trapped within a decaying rabbit animatronic suit, seemingly a variant of Bonnie. The suit's springlock mechanisms failed, crushing and killing him while he was hiding from the spirits of his victims.

As Springtrap, Afton is a relentless and cunning presence. He moves through the dilapidated Fazbear's Fright horror attraction, seeking to continue his reign of terror. His tattered and unsettling appearance is a constant reminder of his gruesome demise and the dark secrets he holds.
